Eduardo Della Pia is a postdoctoral fellow in the group of Karen Martinez at the Bio-Nanotechnology and Nanomedicine Laboratory of the Nano-Science Center (University of Copenhagen, Denmark).
Eduardo obtained his Ph.D. in bio-nanotechnology from Cardiff University. He carried on his research in collaboration with the group of Jens Ulstrup at DTU (Lyngby, Denmark) focusing on the characterization of the physico-chemical properties of redox membrane proteins at a single molecule level. He pioneered the use of synthetic biology with a technique called Scanning Tunneling Microscopy to probe the fundamental nature of electron transfer in proteins.
As a Postdoctoral researcher, Eduardo moved to Denmark where he collaborated with the Molecular Engineering group at the Nano-Science Center to develop cysteine biosensors.
Eduardo has recently received a Postdoctoral fellowship from the Danish Research Council (FTP) to develop nanostructured protein arrays for biosensing.
