In photosynthetic organisms, the regulation of light absorption is performed mostly through two processes, the high energy state quenching (qE) and the State Transitions (ST-qT). These processes are studies in two model species: the green alga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii and the diatom Phaeodactylum tricornutum.
