1- Functional Regulation of Photosynthesis in Microalgae

This theme addresses the issue of the functional regulation of photosynthesis, through three aspects:
1) from light capture to photochemistry in photosystems,
2) electron and proton transfers in the membrane of the thylakoid and
3) the interaction between the light phase of photosynthesis and cellular metabolism.

The objective of this theme is to provide a complete vision of the different mechanisms allowing the photosynthetic machinery to respond to variations in the environmental parameters (light, temperature, etc.) and / or in the metabolic needs of the cell.

We wish to pursue this research with three main objectives: i – to explore the functional diversity of photosynthesis (green algae, plants, diatoms, dinoflagellates, haptophytes …), ii – to compare the observations made in the laboratory with measurements in the field, and iii- develop new scientific methodologies and instrumentations.
